Lifecycle Project aims to take donated bikes, renovate them in prison workshops and locate them with NHS key workers and others in need.
The project works with 4 hospitals where we hope to offer a route to mental and physical wellbeing amongst NHS key workers. The 4 hospitals are West Middlesex Hospital (South West London), Southmead Hospital (Bristol), Peterborough City Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford).
Prison workshops have been closed due to covid and we have been working with local businesses and social enterprises in these areas to renovate the bikes. As soon as we can we will be working with Aylesbury and Hewell prisons where the project will support prisoner training which helps to reduce social exclusion and improve mental health.
These businesses work together with numerous schools, hospitals, prisons and other public sector infrastructure around the UK and internationally. The project leverages the extended corporate network to source unwanted products, upcycle them and provide them to key workers and others who will benefit most – donate, renovate, locate
